Megumi Ogata

Honestly, calling Megumi Ogata just a "voice actress" feels almost rude, because the range here is unreal. This is the same throat that wrung "I mustn't run away" out of Shinji Ikari with all that trembling fragility, then turned around and gave us cool, collected boys like Kurama and Yukito without breaking a sweat. How one person holds that many souls inside them I genuinely cannot tell you, but it gives me chills every time. And she's not just acting on pure instinct, she won a Best Leading Actress prize at the Seiyu Awards, then went and proved she can belt out a song with real fire too, which feels like cheating. What I respect most, though, is the big-sister backbone, looking out for the younger generation and even producing to pass the torch forward. People like her are why this whole world keeps going.
