My Take

I've been watching Mark Vientos since his minor league days and I'll be honest — I wasn't sure the power would ever fully translate at the big-league level. Then 2024 happened and "Swaggy V" just absolutely mashed his way into the Mets' everyday lineup, putting up the kind of home run numbers that made you do a double-take at the box score. The swing is violent in the best possible way, all Florida athleticism and raw strength from a kid who was drafted straight out of high school at 17. He's still only in his mid-twenties and already looks like the cornerstone of a Mets offense that desperately needed one. Give this guy a full healthy season and a lineup around him and I think we're talking about a legitimate All-Star candidate sooner rather than later.
