Michael Barbaro

Michael Barbaro essentially defined what a daily news podcast could be. As the founding host of The Daily, he turned the morning headlines into something intimate, conversational journalism delivered straight into your ears. I'm drawn to that format precisely because it's harder than it looks: it demands a Yale-sharp mind to distill tangled stories and the warmth to make them feel human. In an era when trust in media keeps eroding, his steady, patient interviewing style is a genuine asset. I think his real achievement isn't fame but proving that careful reporting still finds a massive, loyal audience.
