Michael Kiwanuka

Michael Kiwanuka makes the kind of music I keep returning to when the noise gets too loud. He never seems interested in chasing trends, yet his albums quietly climbed from a gold-certified debut to a chart-topping second record on the strength of feel alone. I'm drawn to how he fuses soul and folk into something warm and unhurried, and how honestly he writes about identity and belonging. In an era of disposable singles, his patient, craftsman's approach feels almost defiant. He strikes me as an artist building something durable rather than instant, and I trust that instinct completely.
