Minako Kotobuki

Minako Kotobuki, born 1991 in Kobe, started as a child actor and has since worked as a voice actress, singer, and actor. Listing it that way makes her sound merely versatile, but those are different disciplines that happen to share a microphone. Her turning point was Tsumugi Kotobuki in K-On!, a series about a high school band that arrived exactly when anime and pop music were fusing into a single industry. She did not just voice the part; she sang the openings and endings and joined three other voice actresses in the group Sphere. The 2010 Seiyu Award for singing tells you the industry recognized that this was real musicianship, not a character gimmick. What I find durable about her is what came after. Plenty of performers ride one beloved role until the wave breaks. Kotobuki widened her footing into live-action acting instead, and she has kept working. Longevity in that field is rarely luck.
