Mukesh Chhabra

I think Mukesh Chhabra is one of the most underappreciated tastemakers in Indian cinema. As a casting director behind Dangal, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Jawan and more, he shapes a film's destiny before a single frame is shot, an instinct entirely distinct from acting talent. What fascinates me is that he also stepped behind the camera to direct Dil Bechara, proving his eye extends beyond casting. He works in the shadows of an industry obsessed with stars, yet his fingerprints are everywhere. To me he embodies the quiet truth that the people choosing the faces often matter as much as the faces themselves.
