My Take
Naturi Naughton is a genuine triple threat, and I mean that as more than a cliche. Emerging from East Orange, New Jersey, as one-third of the R&B group 3LW, she could easily have faded as a former teen act. Instead she reinvented herself, playing Lil' Kim in Notorious and then anchoring the Power franchise through Power Book II: Ghost. Crossing from music into serious dramatic acting is harder than it looks, and she has done it with staying power. At 152cm she carries outsized presence on screen. I admire performers who refuse to be confined to one lane, and she clearly never accepted that limit.
