My Take

Tomovic is the sort of footballer I quietly admire: a centre-back whose job is to make problems disappear rather than to dazzle. Twenty-two senior caps for Serbia between 2008 and 2015, plus Olympic duty, is the resume of a dependable man, not a headline-grabber. Defenders like him rarely get the love they deserve, yet a coach who can pencil in a 184 cm anchor week after week sleeps better for it. Closing out his career at Cukaricki, near where it all began, feels fitting. I value players who decide matches in the spaces nobody photographs at all.
