Nicolas Mahut

Nicolas Mahut earns my respect as a doubles craftsman in a sport that usually only celebrates singles stars. Reaching world No. 1 in men's doubles and holding it for 39 weeks is no fluke; that takes years of reading partners, court geometry, and net instincts. At 191 cm with a serve-and-volley sensibility, he's the kind of Frenchman who turned longevity into greatness rather than burning out young. I'll always associate him with marathon tennis and a quiet, professional grit. Doubles specialists rarely get their due, and I think Mahut's career is a reminder that mastery off the singles spotlight is still mastery.
