My Take

Nolan Roux is the kind of player I find quietly compelling. A striker from Compiègne in France's Oise department, he climbed through the French youth ranks all the way to the under-21 side, which is its own real marker of talent. At 182 cm he was built to hunt goals, and being called up at youth level means people saw something early. There's a particular pressure in being a promising prospect, the gap between expectation and the grind that follows.
