My Take
Noomi Rapace is unforgettable to me for a single reason that turned out to be enough: her Lisbeth Salander in the Swedish Millennium trilogy. Coming from the small town of Hudiksvall, she threw herself bodily into that pierced, wounded, brilliant hacker and left audiences stunned. Born Hilda Noomi Norén, she earned Bodil and Robert awards for the work, and rightly so. What grips me is the menace she packs into a 163 cm frame, an intensity Hollywood has rarely been able to replicate. She burrows into roles with a Capricorn's relentlessness. I'm a true devotee of this Nordic outsider.
