My Take

Petrović is a Serbian goalkeeper, and Serbia has a long habit of producing serious shot-stoppers, so I'm not shocked he keeps turning up at big clubs. Going from Serbia to the Premier League is no small leap. What gets me about keepers, though, is how thankless the job is. You can make ten brilliant saves and still get crucified for the one that slips through. Choosing to stand alone at the back, carrying the whole defense on your shoulders, takes a specific kind of nerve. I've always had a soft spot for the guys who win you matches from the back.
