My Take
To me, Peter Sinfield is proof that words can shape an entire genre. As King Crimson's co-founder and lyricist, he gave progressive rock its surreal, sea-soaked vocabulary, then quietly handed gems to ELP and Greg Lake too. I admire how he stayed off-stage, content to be the poet behind the curtain rather than the face in the spotlight. There is a generosity in writing dreams for other voices to sing. His passing in 2024 closed a chapter, but the imagery he conjured still lingers in every fan who first opened the Crimson King's court.
