My Take

Peter Mensah has one of the most commanding screen presences around, and I always perk up when he turns up in something. Ghanaian-born, British-raised and Canada-based, he's that rare character actor whose physicality and deep voice make him unforgettable even in supporting roles. For me his Oenomaus on Starz's Spartacus was the soul of that show, a warrior of real dignity and pain. But he's everywhere if you look, 300, Avatar, Hidalgo, The Incredible Hulk, even Gladiator II. He elevates every production he's in, and I genuinely think he deserves more leading material than the industry has given him.
