Katsura Sando

Okay, this guy fascinates me. Katsura Sando wears so many hats it's almost greedy: rakugo storyteller, comedian, actor, and behind-the-scenes broadcast writer, the kind of person who can both kill a room and quietly script the laughs for someone else. Born in 1969, a Kyoto Sangyo University alum who left before graduating, and honestly that tracks, he reads less like a guy chasing the spotlight and more like a craftsman who'd rather sharpen the bit until it lands clean. There's something I love about a performer who's just as comfortable on the cushion telling a long story as hunched over a desk shaping someone else's punchline. He doesn't seem flashy, just stubbornly, durably funny, the type who builds a whole career out of being genuinely good. I'm rooting for him to keep at it.
