My Take
Preta Gil intrigues me because she could have coasted on being Gilberto Gil's daughter, yet she built a genuine identity in Brazilian music and television on her own terms. Her passing in 2025 cut short a career that always seemed to be in motion. To me she represents that vibrant, defiant energy, joyful on the surface with real steel underneath. I would have loved to see where her boldness took her next.
