Rafael Casal

Rafael Casal fascinates me because no matter how many titles he carries, writer, actor, rapper, producer, showrunner, the throughline is always language. Emerging from the Bay Area spoken-word scene, he built a career on rhythm and the power of words to move people. What I respect most is that he chose to create his own stories rather than simply audition into other people's. Multi-hyphenate is an overused label, but with Casal it feels earned because each discipline feeds the others. I find artists who control their own narrative far more interesting than those waiting to be cast, and he is firmly the former.
