My Take
What draws me to Rahim Redcar, best known as Christine and the Queens, is the refusal to stand still. A pianist since age four in Nantes, he built a sound that fuses French pop, dance and visual art, then reshaped his own identity in full public view. I admire artists who treat selfhood as a work in progress rather than a fixed brand. The state honors and BBC recognition are nice footnotes, but the real achievement is the emotional rawness on stage. For me, Redcar is one of the most genuinely fearless performers working today, and worth following closely.
