Ranjeet

Ranjeet, born Gopal Bedi, earns my genuine admiration for mastering the hardest job in cinema: being the villain audiences love to hate. Over two hundred Hindi films of menace require a stamina and conviction most leading men never need to summon. What moves me is the range hidden inside that typecasting, a turn as a good man on television and a clear loyalty to Punjabi cinema that hints at roots he never abandoned. To me, an actor who can carry decades of antagonism without ever phoning it in is a true craftsman, and I salute that durability.
