My Take
Rat Scabies is one of those names that tells you everything before you hear a single beat. As the drummer for the Damned, he was at the very birthplace of British punk, and to me that founding role matters more than any chart figure. What I admire is the commitment baked into reinventing yourself with a stage name that dares you to take him seriously. Musicians like this are measured by impact rather than statistics. He kept hitting, kept driving a movement, and that relentless pulse is its own legacy. I respect performers who let their playing do the talking.
