My Take

Ray Comfort fascinates me less for his theology, which I do not share, than for his sheer conviction. Leaving Christchurch for America and building Living Waters and The Way of the Master from scratch takes real entrepreneurial nerve. His young-Earth creationism and confrontational street evangelism guarantee controversy, yet there is something undeniable about a man who stakes his entire life on what he believes and refuses to soften it for comfort. I tend to respect people who live fully inside their convictions, even when I disagree with every word. Comfort is, at minimum, utterly unwavering, and that consistency commands a certain admiration.
