Regine Velasquez

Regine Velasquez is, for me, the gold standard of a national diva. That story about training her voice neck-deep in the sea as a child sounds almost mythical, yet her range and belting make it believable. What strikes me is the sheer scale of her influence: singer, actress, host, and in 2021 named among Asia's most influential. Very few performers can credibly carry a country's pop culture on their shoulders. I hold deep respect for an artist who built that kind of devotion on raw vocal power alone, refusing to let her gift go unheard.
