My Take
Rich Wilkes interests me as a writer tuned to the pulse of youth and music. Born in 1966 in Princeton, he works across screenwriting, acting, directing, and music, and his scripts are noted for being rooted in contemporary culture. I find that combination harder than it looks: capturing the texture of a generation requires listening to the street, not just sitting at a desk. His major-studio debut, the 1994 script for Airheads, shows it: craftsmen who quietly mirror their era keep cinema honest. I respect storytellers who build the world behind the camera more than they chase the spotlight.
