My Take
Hassan's story moves me precisely because none of its starting conditions were chosen for her. Born stateless in a refugee camp near Aleppo, arriving in France around age nine, she could have settled into quiet survival; instead she studied law and turned her own displacement into a vocation defending others. Whatever one's politics, that trajectory commands respect. What interests me most is the conversion of biography into conviction: a person who knew what it meant to have no rights deciding to spend her life arguing for them. That kind of root-deep motivation tends to outlast any single political moment.
