My Take
Roz Kelly, born Rosiland Schwartz in Mount Vernon, New York, occupies a special little corner of television history for me. Playing Pinky Tuscadero, Fonzie's girlfriend on Happy Days, she stamped a single role onto the collective memory of an entire era. I find that quietly enviable; plenty of actors work for decades without ever becoming shorthand for a cultural moment. To embody the bright, breezy spirit of that show in one indelible character is no small feat. I have warm affection for performers who, rather than chasing endless credits, leave one vivid, lasting impression. She earned hers.
