Ruka Ishikawa

Born in 1997 in Fujimino, Saitama, Ruka Ishikawa left a science degree at Sophia University to act, and her first screen role, the lead in a trailer for Sarugakucho de Aimasho, won a trailer competition, became a feature, and was selected for the Tokyo International Film Festival. The only thing she has to be remembered for is the work itself. Performers like this rarely arrive with a marketing push behind them. They turn up in a frame and something in the face holds your attention longer than it should. I would rather write about someone whose career is still filling in than someone whose career already peaked.
