Shawn Wayans

What I love about Shawn Wayans is the family-comedy machine he is part of. Breaking out on In Living Color, then pairing with brother Marlon for The Wayans Bros. and the Scary Movie franchise, he helped build a brand of broad, irreverent parody that is easy to dismiss and surprisingly hard to pull off. Spoof comedy lives or dies on timing, and the Wayans clan has it in the blood. I respect performers who can keep an audience laughing alongside their own siblings for decades; that chemistry cannot be faked, and his work is comfort viewing for me.
