My Take
Shunsuke Kasaya spent a decade with the SoftBank Hawks and a season with DeNA, and there's something I genuinely respect about a guy who grew up in Oita City, one of those quieter corners of Kyushu, and still carved out a place in professional baseball. At 173cm he's not going to physically dominate anyone, so whatever he's built his game on, it's probably craft and instinct over raw size. That's the kind of player I end up rooting for without quite meaning to — the ones who get there on sheer stubbornness and feel rather than a highlight reel. Kid from a regional city, making it work. Quietly respect it.
