My Take
Shunsuke Nakamura is, to me, one of the purest technicians Japanese football ever produced. That wand of a left foot turned free kicks into something close to art, and his Champions League strike against Manchester United at Celtic Park is a memory I still cherish. Being the only player named J.League MVP twice tells you how long he stayed at the top. What I value most now is that he's passing his craft to the next generation as a national-team coach. Skill alone earned the world's respect, and he earned mine.
