Sohyang

Sohyang is, to my ears, one of the most staggering vocal technicians alive, but what moves me isn't the range or the power on display, it's her stated mission to comfort people who are struggling. That intent comes through in every performance, turning what could be mere acrobatics into something genuinely consoling. I also love that she publishes fantasy novels, which tells me her creative drive simply can't be contained by music alone. A Gwangju-born, university-educated artist who treats the voice as a tool for healing rather than showing off, she deserves a much wider global audience than she has.
