My Take
I've always thought Sooyoung is one of the most underrated members of Girls' Generation, and that's saying something in a group that basically defined a generation of K-pop. Born in Gangnam in 1990, she stood out not just for her striking 172 cm height but for a wit and screen presence that translated effortlessly into acting — her work in dramas like Run On showed she had real range beyond the idol stage. What I admire is how deliberately she built a second career as an actress without abandoning her roots, staying genuine to both worlds. She co-wrote songs, she modeled, she acted, and somehow it never felt scattered — it felt like a person with actual ambition quietly doing the work. Girls' Generation may have been the headline, but Sooyoung was always one of the reasons I kept watching.
