My Take

Andrić's story has a satisfying shape. A defensive midfielder from Dubrovnik, that jewel of the Adriatic, he spent his career doing the unglamorous connective work in midfield, the running nobody notices until it stops. What wins me over is the second act: he went on to lead the youth academy at Hajduk Split, one of Croatia's storied clubs.
