Taneekarn Dangda

Taneekarn Dangda, a Bangkok-born forward for Thailand's women's national team, is exactly the sort of athlete I want to spotlight. Women's football across Asia is too often overshadowed by Japan and starved of the money and attention the men's game enjoys, which makes scoring goals for your country a genuinely hard-won achievement. She also played in Japan for AC Nagano Parceiro before joining BG Bundit Asia. I respect anyone who carries a forward's burden under those conditions, and she also has an Instagram account. To me she represents the underappreciated backbone of a growing footballing nation.
