My Take

Taylor Holmes is a perfect example of why I love digging into old Hollywood. Over a hundred Broadway plays and a five-decade career across stage, film and voice work make him a true journeyman of American performance. What genuinely delights me, though, is that his 1915 recitation of Kipling's "Boots" resurfaced in the trailer for Danny Boyle's 28 Years Later in 2025. To have your voice summoned back into the cultural conversation more than sixty years after death is a rare immortality. He reminds me that great craft never fully fades, it just waits to be rediscovered by a new generation.
