Tony Curran

Tony Curran is the kind of actor whose name you might not catch but whose face you never forget. The Glaswegian has quietly stitched himself into Underworld, Doctor Who, Roots and Outlaw King, rarely top-billed yet always elevating the scene he walks into. I have a soft spot for character actors like him, the ones who serve the story instead of their own vanity. His 2006 BAFTA Scotland and British Independent Film Award recognition confirms what discerning viewers already sense. He is craft over celebrity, and that is precisely the sort of performer worth championing.
