Tsuyoshi Ihara

I have a real soft spot for Tsuyoshi Ihara, the kind of actor who can silence a scene just by looking into the camera. He's tall, with this hooded, smoldering stare, and you instantly believe that whatever he's holding back is dangerous. What I love is that he never seems to be chasing the spotlight or clowning around on variety shows; he just plants himself in a role and quietly does the work. He's at his absolute best playing men carrying buried rage or some old betrayal, the type who barely raises his voice and somehow becomes more terrifying for it. There's an old-school, no-nonsense gravity to him, and honestly I trust a performer like that. Every drama needs one anchor that serious, and he's it.
