My Take
I have a lot of respect for Vivek Murthy. Born in Huddersfield, educated at Harvard, and twice appointed United States Surgeon General across administrations as different as Obama, Trump, and Biden, he has earned a trust that crosses partisan lines, which is genuinely rare. What interests me most is his framing of loneliness as a public health crisis; that takes a doctor willing to look past lab results toward human connection. His public manner strikes me as measured and sincere, and I tend to remember people for that warmth far longer than for any title. He is the kind of figure who makes a credential feel like the smallest part of the story.
