Wiley

Wiley earns the title "Godfather of Grime" honestly, and that is what draws me to him. Inventing a sound is rarer and harder than mastering one, and his early eskibeat white-label releases reshaped British street music for a generation. He was appointed MBE in 2018, though the honour was revoked in 2024 after his antisemitic posts. I am always more impressed by architects than by stars, and Wiley built the very ground others stand on.
