WOODZ

WOODZ is an artist I keep coming back to with real respect. Born Cho Seung-youn in Gyeonggi Province, he broke through as Uniq's main rapper before founding his own production team and taking control of his sound. The rapper-singer-songwriter-producer-dancer label could read as mere versatility, but what strikes me is the density of vision in each release. He has steadily rewritten the idol-origin narrative through sheer craft, and I find that arc compelling. I am rooting for him to keep barging forward on nothing but the strength of his own music.
