Yoshiki Nakajima

Yoshiki Nakajima, born in Kanagawa in 1993, is a voice actor with 81 Produce, and his casting history is a decent argument for range. He voiced Yoshifumi Nitta in Hinamatsuri, a gruff yakuza suddenly saddled with a telekinetic child, and also Tetora Nagumo in Ensemble Stars!, Jiro Yamashita in The Idolmaster: SideM, and Billy Wise in HELIOS Rising Heroes. Those are not small tonal distances to travel. What interests me is how the job itself has changed around performers like him. Voice acting in Japan is no longer only voice acting. It means live stage events, radio programs, and singing, and Nakajima also performs as half of the unit UMake with fellow actor Kent Ito. That is a demanding portfolio, and plenty of people spread across it thinly. He does not read that way to me. He reads like someone who genuinely enjoys the variety, which is probably the only sustainable way to survive a career shaped like this one.
