My Take
Yubin earned my respect by refusing to be defined by the group that made her famous. As a member of Wonder Girls she was part of one of K-pop's most important early acts, the team behind Nobody, before they disbanded in 2017. Plenty of idols fade at that point; instead she went solo, leaning into a sophisticated, retro disco sound with Lady, and then did the genuinely bold thing of founding her own agency and running it as CEO. That move from performer to businesswoman is rare and risky. I always root for artists who take control of their own career rather than waiting to be managed.
