Yūto Furuya

Yūto Furuya, a left-hander from Makubetsu in Hokkaido, once hit 160 km/h, the fastest pitch recorded by a Japanese lefty, and there's something I genuinely like about a ballplayer born in '99 who's still in that hungry, climbing stretch of a career. At 176cm he's got that lean, no-wasted-motion build you see on guys who've spent years grinding through practice, and I always root for the ones who get there one quiet rep at a time rather than one viral highlight. He keeps an Instagram going too, so there's a human behind the stats. He's exactly the kind of player I want to keep an eye on and learn to recognize. Quietly in his corner, honestly.
