My Take
For me, Zach Roerig will always be Matt Donovan, the lone ordinary human anchoring a town full of vampires for the entire run of The Vampire Diaries. That is a deceptively hard job: holding the emotional gravity while everyone around you gets the supernatural fireworks. Coming from Montpelier, Ohio, there is a grounded steadiness to his presence that fits those roles. I value actors who can sustain a single character across many years without grandstanding. The flashy lead parts get the attention, but supporting players who reliably hold a story together deserve far more credit than they usually get.
