My Take

Zoe Bell is a personal hero of mine in the action world. A New Zealand stuntwoman who doubled Lucy Lawless on Xena and Uma Thurman on Kill Bill, she earned her stripes the hard way before Tarantino made her a star in her own right. That famous hood ride in Death Proof, where she's actually hanging off a speeding car, is one of the bravest stunts I've ever seen committed to film. I love that she's transitioned into acting, directing and producing while never losing that fearless physicality. She's a genuine pioneer for women in stunts, and the respect she commands is completely deserved.
