My Take

Abhimanyu Dassani is a young actor I find easy to root for. The son of actress Bhagyashree, he could have coasted on the family name, but his 2018 debut in Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota won him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut, a genuine statement rather than a nepotistic handout. What I like is the range he is already chasing, swinging from offbeat action to the romantic comedy Meenakshi Sundareshwar and back to action with Nikamma. Hindi cinema is crowded with star kids, so I respect anyone who seems intent on earning his own footing. To me he is one worth watching.
