Adriana Lima

Lima interests me less as a face than as a study in longevity. Staying a Victoria's Secret Angel from 2000 to 2018, the longest run of anyone, is not luck in an industry that discards beauty by the season, it is discipline, intelligence, and an instinct for reinvention. At 178 cm with that famously piercing gaze, she had the raw material, but plenty had that and vanished. Now she is moving toward directing, and I respect performers who refuse to coast on what made them famous.
