Aldo Nova

Aldo Nova strikes me as a glorious flash of early-eighties energy. His 1982 debut hitting number 8 on the Billboard chart, driven by the single Fantasy, captured a kind of shimmering hard-rock confidence I still find irresistible. What intrigues me, though, is the range behind the spectacle: he sings, plays guitar, writes, produces, and even works as a magician. That tells me he is a born entertainer with a craftsman's discipline underneath the glitz. I admire performers who can be both flamboyant and meticulous, and to me Nova lives squarely in that rare overlap.
