My Take

Leatherwood's story is a sharp lesson in how thin the line is between college glory and pro reality. At Alabama he was untouchable, a two-time national champion and winner of the Outland and Jacobs Blocking trophies. Then the Raiders took him in the first round and cut him after one season. I find that whiplash genuinely poignant. At 198 cm and still remarkably young, he has every physical reason to rebuild his career, and I am rooting for the comeback. To me he represents the brutal honesty of the NFL and the resilience it demands from those who survive it.
