My Take

Alex Lifeson is, to me, one of the most underrated guitarists in rock, forever in the shadow of Geddy Lee's vocals and Neil Peart's drumming within Rush. Born Aleksandar Zivojinovic, he co-founded the band back in 1968, and his textural, layered playing is the secret sauce that made their progressive epics feel cinematic rather than indulgent. Being made an Officer of the Order of Canada confirms what fans already knew about his stature. I love that he never chased flash for its own sake; his solos serve the song. Rush simply does not exist as we know it without his architecture.
