My Take
Alexander Skarsgard could have coasted forever on the family name and a Nordic-statue profile, and the fact that he refuses to is exactly why I rate him. Quitting child acting at thirteen, serving in the Swedish Navy, then rebuilding his career from scratch gave him a patience most second-generation actors never develop. His best work weaponizes his handsomeness against the audience, from the charming abuser in Big Little Lies to the slippery mogul in Succession, while The Northman proved he will physically demolish himself for a role. He treats beauty as raw material rather than a destination, and I find that one of the smartest instincts in Hollywood today.
